Run down from your routine? No time for yourself or friendships? It’s time for a RESET.
Welcome to Highrock Southwest Boston! We would love to invite you to a service on Sunday or to any of our public events. If you’re new to Highrock, Sunday worship at New Mission High School is a good place to start. To get to know us better, join Pastor Andy for "connection time" immediately following the service, at one of our Community Groups, or at a monthly Newcomers' dinner. Whether you're looking for a church or a place to ask questions and connect with God, we look forward to seeing you soon!
Sunday service at Highrock is a place to rejoice, revive, and rest, where we worship, serve, eat, and laugh together as a community. It's where messy and broken people come to encounter a loving God who desires to heal and transform. It's where we find strength in following Christ.
Newcomers are encouraged to check us out at one of our "First Sundays", the first Sunday of the month. Since we're a new church plant, we'll be hosting full worship services on those weeks and using other weeks to equip one another to plant and grow the church. Every week we meet includes children's ministry, food, fellowship, and worship.
We meet on the first floor of New Mission High School/BCLA building in Hyde Park, Boston, MA.
Please come as you are! You don’t have to dress or act a certain way, or even believe what we believe! We worship in a variety of ways, through songs, stories, and sermons. We value relevance while adhering to centuries-old Christian traditions, and incorporate both ancient and contemporary elements in our worship.
Head to the foyer after service for some coffee, yummy snacks, refreshments, and good conversation.
On Sunday morning, nursery care for infants and toddlers is open for drop-off at 9:50 am and available through the sermon time, at which point parents will be directed to pick up their children.
Preschoolers through fifth graders are invited to start out in the service for worship as an intergenerational community. Kids are then invited to Kidsrock Jr. (preschool-grade 1) and Kidsrock (grades 2-5) for engaging, interactive prorgramming designed to meet them where they are! Kidsrock teachers then bring children back into the service as we conclude with more worship and communion.
On Sundays, many of our tweens and teens serve in various areas of the church like our Nursery, Kidsrock, Worship, Tech, and Welcoming ministries. In addition, we encourage middle and high schoolers to participate in the entire worship service.
For more information, please contact our Kidsrock Director, Lisa Ober, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We meet for worship on the first floor of the New Mission High School & Boston Community Leadership Academy building (the old Hyde Park High) located at 655 Metropolitan Avenue, Hyde Park. Enter via the rear entrance adjacent to the parking lot and follow signs.
You may park on the street adjacent to the school or in the lot behind.
New Mission High School is a five minute walk from Highrock via the 32, 33, and 39 buses at Westminster St. and Hyde Park Ave and the 24, 24/27, and 33 buses at River St and Metropolitan Ave.
Highrock wants to include everyone around God's table, including those with physical challenges. In both our strengths and our limitations, we each reflect essential elements of the image of God. We hope that you will feel welcome here so that the image of God we reflect as a church body might be more complete.
Someone from our Welcome team will greet you in the rear parking lot and guide you to an elevator to the second floor, from which you can access the auditorium. The parking lot has several handicap parking spaces. The building is ADA compliant.
There's a lot to our community beyond Sunday mornings! For more information about any of the groups below, email Pastor Andy at email@example.com.
Sundays are important times to get together, but we also know that community happens throughout the week! At our Community Groups we study scripture, pray together, and build deeper relationships with other people in our neighborhoods. Currently, we have groups that meet in Roslindale, Hyde Park, and Jamaica Plain.
Women’s Group is a diverse group of ladies — single and married, with kids and without, and of any age — who get together weekly over food to encourage one other to explore and deepen faith.
Prayer is the life-blood of the church: a time we set aside to listen, ask, praise, and thank God for everything he's up to in our community and in our city. We meet every Thursday from 8:00-9:00pm via a video chat/conference call.
God is doing so much among our teenagers! Come have a snack, make some friends, and discover how God is at work with this exciting community. Youth in 9th - 12th grade are encouraged to meet on Sunday afternoons at 2:00pm. Bring a friend!
